Wounded Moons
The moons will collide
The asteroids will strike
With hot-growing fire tails
Burning all corn crops
Most vulnerable to flames
Our eyes will meet
Your blue planets will charge
On my black defeated ones
With your flying meteors
Once mistook for shooting stars
Your sun will orbit me
As did your ring or rocks
Disorienting me off axis
And with only a sunray
Set my loving heart on fire
My love is vaster than galaxies
Each and all of them combined
Spilling in unknown black holes
And finally over your planet
Where my white flag you deny
My planet will crumble
Slowly shedding rock by rock
Out of the space you invade
To protect the core I shield
From your air I cannot breathe
But I see within your eyes,
Deep craters, cuts and wounds,
For you, too, have taken hits
Seen on your barren planet
Felt in your sole-living tears
Email your thoughts
